FOUR: SPICED DRINKS
Four of Marylebone’s best winter tipples with a touch of spice
1. Ginger ninja
This sweetly spiced yet fiery number from The Marylebone is like a drink and a pudding all rolled into one, with ginger and honey-flavoured rum, a drizzle of cinnamon bark syrup, freshly squeezed lime, angostura bitters and, to top it off, a ginger beer float.
2. The resolution
A cockle-warming cocktail from The Portman: Darnley’s spiced gin—a small batch London dry gin from Scotland, with notes of cooking spices and a lingering pepperiness—balanced with fresh lemon juice, a pinch of sugar, and a sprig of rosemary.
3. Velvet sorbet
Crisp Ketel One vodka meets Velvet Falernum, a clove and almond flavoured liqueur from the sunny climes of Barbados. Topped with grapefruit, orange bitter and lime sorbet, this bitter-sweet concoction is a 108 Bar signature.
4. Mulled wine
Made with a blend of star anise, cinnamon, cloves and orange, simmered with soft and fruity côtes de gascogne red wine, this cup of Christmas is best enjoyed next to The Grazing Goat’s open fire—preferably with a plump mince pie alongside.
